Enzo Castellucci, 38 anni, di origini lucane. Nella vita vigile del fuoco di professione.
Approccia alla fotografia in un lontano 2007 con l’acquisto di una prima fotocamera compatta usata solitamente per fotografare ad eventi di musica techno per il semplice piacere di farlo. Nel 2016 la prima reflex acquistata perché di lì a breve sarebbe partito per il Cammino di Santiago con l’intenzione di ottenere immagini migliori. Così muove i primi veri passi esplorando la fotografia. Nel 2018 decide di iscriversi ad un’accademia di arti visive a Milano, percorso terminato nel 2020.
La sua fotografia si serve dei metodi del reportage contemporaneo intimista, puntando verso il campo della fine art. Il mezzo fotografico è uno strumento per approfondire la comprensione di sé stesso e la sua connessione con il mondo e con l’altro. Pone un interrogativo rivolto alla ricerca del sé. Il tentativo è anche quello di attenersi a quello che per lui è uno degli scopi della fotografia, ovvero condurre coloro che guardano i suoi scatti verso un coinvolgimento emotivo utile a riconoscere sentimenti legati ad esperienze di vita simili.
Per lui comunicare con la fotografia è un atto puro di condivisione. Come pratica di meditazione, il fotografico crea spazio per interagire con sentimenti e pensieri. A volte diventa un bisogno di restare o una via di fuga.
“Cosa sono le mie fotografie? Non saprei dirlo con esattezza. So solo che arrivano così come le poesie, mosse dalla stessa vocazione, dallo stesso intuito e ispirazione. Fotografie che non vogliono essere, ma sono.”

Enzo Castellucci, 38, of Lucanian origins (Italy south). In life, he is a firefighter by profession.
He approached photography back in 2007 with the purchase of the first compact camera that he used to take with him only to techno music events. In 2016 the first reflex arrived. He bought it because he would soon be leaving for the Camino to Santiago with the intention of getting better pictures. So, he took his first real steps in exploring photography. In 2018 he decided to join a visual arts academy in Milan, a journey that ended in 2020.
His photography uses the methods of contemporary intimate reportage, aiming towards the field of fine art. The photographic medium is a tool to deepen the understanding of himself and his connection with the world and others. It poses a question aimed at the search for the self. The attempt is also to stick to what for him is one of the purposes of photography, that is to lead those who look at his shots towards an emotional involvement useful for recognizing feelings linked to similar life experiences.
For him, communicating with photography is a pure act of sharing. As a meditation practice, photography creates space to interact with feelings and thoughts. Sometimes it becomes a need to stay or an escape route.
“What are my photos? I can’t say exactly. I only know that they come just like the poems, moved by the same vocation, by the same intuition. Photographs that don’t want to be, but are.”
